While I’d love to be the kind of person who meticulously meal preps a week in advance… ha. Maybe when my kids are older or I’m graced with the organization skills of Marie Kondo. But not right now.
Sometimes, the best I can do is a piece of toast as I’m running out the door. Which, when you’re showing houses all day, doesn’t get you very far. Being a realtor requires sustenance. And while quick snack breaks are doable, they’re not the perfect solution.
The answer? A proper breakfast (obviously). It is, after all, the most important meal of the day.
So, when it’s down to breakfast on the go, one of my favorite spots to order from is Schat’s Bakery Café. It’s a fifth-generation Dutch bakery here in Ukiah, and they know exactly what they’re doing, be it bread or breakfast burritos.
Schat’s has multiple locations all over town, including one right next to my office (hallelujah). My go-to order is the California Light Bagel, which is topped with cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, avocado, and sprouts. I like substituting tomatoes with bell peppers and ordering them on a jalapeno bagel. It is *chef’s kiss.* Perfection.
Besides bread and burritos, Schat’s serves breakfast paninis and tortinis, omelets, quiche, French toast, and more. No matter what you’re craving, they have you covered.
And the best part? On crazy-busy days when you don’t have a minute to spare, you can order your breakfast online, and they’ll have it ready and waiting for you to scoop up!
If you’re more concerned about what to eat for lunch, Schat’s can help you there, too. They have a separate lunch menu that includes grilled sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, and many other options. It’s a godsend when you’re in a hurry but still want to eat well.
So, if you’re running nonstop this week, take meal prep off your list of stressors. Check out Schat’s and enjoy their freshly baked goodies!
